Q: When do you charge travel and mileage? And what are the rates?
A: We do not charge travel time or mileage in the Phoenix Metro Area…including but not limited to: Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Apache Junction, Anthem, Glendale, Peoria, Avondale, Sun City (West), and Surprise. We will schedule an Interpreter closest to your location as we have Interpreters Valley wide. This keeps their travel time as short as possible. If you have an assignment outside of the Phoenix Metro Area, we do charge travel time and mileage and the charges are as follows:
Travel = Rate of the scheduled Interpreter per hour (no minimums for travel)
Mileage=Current Federal Rate
Both are charged round trip from the time the Interpreter leaves their home until they arrive at the location and then the same from their assignment until they arrive home. We do always try to keep your costs down by finding an Interpreter that is as close to the assignment as possible.
Q: Why am I responsible for paying for this service?
A: Title III of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) states that Employers, Health Professionals, State and Federal organizations and more must provide effective communication for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals consumers.
